It only takes 20-30 minutes per day to receive the benefits of red and yellow light therapy via TrueLight™ by TrueDark®. But with busy schedules, how do you find an extra 20 minutes in your day to sit down, relax and heal? We people spend more time sitting than we think we do. Red and Yellow light therapy works from the inside-out to enhance mitochondrial function in cells.
Here are 4 easy ways to incorporate light therapy into your day, without spending any extra time:
Wind down after a day on your feet: Now that Autumn is upon us, cold feet and slippers go hand in hand. With your TrueLight Energy Square, you have a built in foot warmer that can rejuvenate and strengthen you, from the ground up! Everyone sits down at some point during the day, so it’s easy to add TrueLight into your routine without missing a beat! After a long day of work, school or sports, you can place the hardest working part of your body- your feet- on your TrueLight device. The warmth is delightfully pleasant, and the 4 different light wavelengths of light will work to restore, repair and protect the tissues on in your feet. It can also help reduce inflammation and increase blood flow. If you have arthritis, plantar fasciitis or nerve pain, this is a particularly helpful action to take. If you are looking to help your foot tissue heal more rapidly, consider using the pulsating feature. If you’re wanting to reduce pain, use the steady setting. Sitting on the coach or at your desk is a perfect way to pamper your feet with light!
NOTE: only use the device while in a sitting position with your feet resting on your TrueLight device. Do not stand with your full weight on the unit.
While meditating: Most meditations involve closing the eyes and relaxing, while clearing the mind. Using your TrueLight Energy Square and stand, you can sit comfortably in a chair, set your TrueLight up on the stand on your desk or table (about 6 inches from your face), turn it on, close your eyes and start meditation. Your TrueLight will be providing your face with the benefits of improved skin and collagen building, increased blood flow for detox for your skin, while your meditation cleans and detoxes your soul. A lot of people want to spend time meditating, but don’t find the time in the day. Here is a great way to multitask in a healthy way. With the TrueLight automatic 20 minute timer, it will time your meditation so you know when 20 minutes is over.
Relax the back: the spine is a hard working part of the body. While sitting in a chair or on the couch, put the TrueLight unit behind your lower back or upper shoulders. This will relax muscles, reduce inflammation and strengthen your body. The TrueLight Energy Square also works great for muscle strains. If sitting is causing you additional pain try laying face down with the device on top of the painful region of your body. Another way to utilize the device is conducting region specific sessions with it. Some examples: Someone with tennis elbow puts the device in their lap with the lights facing up and lays their arm across the array for a 20 minute session; or someone with cervical (neck) strain lays their head/neck on top of the device while on a flat surface for a light therapy session to relieve pain. The combinations are endless. NOTE: Remember that Steady lights are for pain relief and Pulsating light is for deep healing.
Light therapy can help with skin issues, such as rosacea, and help to improve your muscle’s ability to recover, but it can also help your body process fat in a more efficient manner. When you use light wavelengths of 630-670 and 810-880, they will stimulate mitochondrial production and ATP (adenosine triphosphate) production. In turn, this can help your body wash away unwanted fat cells.
